Expected loss follows total amount wagered
The most useful risk calculation is simple:
expected loss = total amount wagered × house edge
Suppose a game has a 1% edge and you stake one unit per round. After 100 rounds, you have wagered 100 units. The model’s expected loss is one unit. After 1,000 rounds, the total wagered is 1,000 units and the expected loss is ten units.
This does not predict one session. You could finish ahead or lose much more than the average. Expected value describes the long-run centre of many possible results.
The calculation also explains why a deposit can be misleading. You might deposit 50 units, win some rounds and keep reusing the balance. Your total amount wagered can become several times larger than the original deposit.
Cash-out targets change volatility, not the edge
A lower target wins more often and pays less. A higher target wins less often and pays more.

Martingale does not remove the edge. It exchanges many small apparent wins for occasional severe losses.
Stop-loss and win limits have one job
A stop-loss sets the most you will lose in one session. A win limit ends the session before all gains are wagered again. Both can reduce exposure by ending play.
Neither changes the next round’s probability. A stop-loss is not a technical system for identifying bad conditions. A win limit does not lock in a repeatable edge.
Set the limits before depositing. Do not move them because the session is close to break-even. Do not reset them after a break or make another deposit to “finish properly.” If a limit can be renegotiated during play, it is not a limit.
Add a time limit as well. Crash rounds can resolve quickly. The faster the cycle, the faster total wagering can grow.
