What this Irish lottery guide covers

Irish lottery sites are not all selling the same thing. Lottery.ie lets you buy an official National Lottery entry, while the bookmakers below let you place fixed odds bets on the numbers drawn. We compared both types and ranked five bookmaker options for Irish Lotto online, with Paddy Power our top pick for lottery betting.

The difference matters because the payout works in a completely different way. Buy Lotto through Lottery.ie and you enter the official prize structure, including the rolling jackpot and the lower prize tiers. Place an Irish Lotto bet with a bookmaker and you do not own a National Lottery ticket at all. Your return comes from the fixed odds shown by the bookmaker when you place the bet.

That can suit different kinds of play. An official Lotto ticket is the route if you want a chance at the National Lottery jackpot. Fixed odds betting lets you choose fewer numbers, often between one and five, and you win only if every number in that selection appears in the relevant draw. Our guide to how betting odds work explains how a quoted price turns into a return.

There is another practical difference. Nearly 30 cent from every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes to Good Causes around Ireland. A bookmaker bet is a wager with that bookmaker and does not contribute to the National Lottery prize pool in the same way.

The official route: National Lottery / Lottery.ie

Lottery.ie is the official way into the Irish National Lottery rather than a bet on somebody else's draw. You can play Lotto, EuroMillions, EuroDreams, Daily Million, Lotto 5-4-3-2-1 and Instant Win Games from the same account, then check results and manage tickets online. Daily Million starts from €1 per line, while Lotto requires at least two lines and costs €4 minimum; adding Lotto Plus brings the minimum to €6.

The mobile side is strong too. The official National Lottery iPhone app rates 4.7 out of 5 from around 109,000 Irish App Store ratings, and includes Quick Pick, saved numbers, a single basket and a ticket scanner for entries bought in a shop. The official route also means you are playing for the advertised National Lottery jackpot rather than a bookmaker's fixed return; it is operated by Premier Lotteries Ireland.

Lottery.ie is not built for choosing one, two or three numbers at fixed odds. If you prefer smaller number selections with a known potential payout before the draw, the five bookmakers ranked below are the better fit.

Which bookmaker is best for Irish Lotto betting?

Paddy Power leads the bookmakers in this guide because its Irish Lotto section covers the main draw, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2, with extra markets on individual balls, odd or even outcomes, the highest and lowest ball, number ranges and individual draw positions. That gives you more ways to bet on an Irish Lotto draw than simply asking whether a group of numbers all appears.

Paddy Power's Republic of Ireland betting operation holds GRAI-1003-RB-26-0001, and the same account covers its wider betting product if Lotto is only one part of what you bet on. You cannot win the official National Lottery jackpot through a Paddy Power Lotto bet: the amount you can receive is determined by the fixed odds and stake on your bet, so compare the potential return with the official Lottery.ie ticket before deciding which product you actually want.

The 5 best bookmakers for Irish Lotto betting

1. Paddy Power 3.7/5 · More lottery specials than any bookmaker here

Paddy Power has a broader Irish Lotto betting menu than the other bookmakers in this comparison, and makes the distinction clear on the site itself: you are betting on the result of the draw, not buying a lottery ticket. Irish Lotto covers the main draw, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2, while Daily Million is available separately. You can pick numbers yourself or use Quick Pick, and the standard lottery bet lets you choose between one and five numbers.

More lottery specials than any bookmaker here

Paddy Power lists bets on whether particular balls will appear, odd or even outcomes, the highest and lowest ball, number ranges and individual draw positions, well beyond a standard 1-5 number selection. That gives you more ways to bet on an Irish Lotto draw than simply asking whether a group of numbers all appears.

Covers main draw, Lotto Plus 1 and 2 separately

Lottery choice spans Irish Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2, while Daily Million is available separately, and you can pick numbers yourself or use Quick Pick. Paddy Power's Republic of Ireland betting operation holds GRAI-1003-RB-26-0001, and the same account covers its wider betting product.

No official jackpot through this bet

You cannot win the official National Lottery jackpot through a Paddy Power Lotto bet. The amount you receive is set by the fixed odds and stake on your bet, so compare the potential return with the official Lottery.ie ticket first. Check any active promotion and its wagering terms in your account before you bet.

What works here:

  • Covers the main draw, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2, plus Daily Million separately
  • Lists extra markets, individual balls, odd or even, ranges and draw positions, beyond a standard 1-5 selection

Room for improvement:

  • Cannot win the official National Lottery jackpot through this bet; compare the return with an official ticket first

2. Coral 3.6/5 · Five draw games in one lottery hub

Coral works well if you want Irish Lotto alongside faster draw-based games rather than treating one weekly lottery as the entire account. Its lottery hub currently lists Irish Lotto, Daily Million, Fast 15s, 39s and New York Lotto. Coral takes fixed odds bets on the numbers drawn by the official Irish Lotto: you choose your numbers and the bet is settled against the confirmed result rather than entering the National Lottery prize pool.

Five draw games, from Lotto to New York Lotto

The range is good, particularly if you like moving between Irish Lotto and Daily Million, and Fast 15s, 39s and New York Lotto add faster options beyond the weekly draws. The Coral account also has a strong mobile product, so the lottery section does not require a separate account if you already use the bookmaker for sport.

Related to Ladbrokes, overlapping menus

Coral and Ladbrokes are related brands, and their lottery menus overlap heavily, so opening both adds far less extra variety than choosing two unrelated bookmakers, which is one reason Coral ranks ahead of Ladbrokes here.

Welcome: 100 free spins, 0x wagering

Coral's current welcome offer is 100 free spins with 0x wagering on the winnings and a €5 minimum deposit. It is a casino-wide offer rather than lottery-specific, so eligibility and terms sit in the account rather than on the lottery pages themselves.

What works here:

  • Lottery hub lists five draw games: Irish Lotto, Daily Million, Fast 15s, 39s and New York Lotto
  • Strong mobile product, so lottery betting sits inside the same account as sport

Room for improvement:

  • Heavily overlapping lottery menu with its related brand Ladbrokes
  • The welcome route is free spins only, with no matched deposit bonus alongside them

3. Ladbrokes 3.6/5 · Same lottery family, one shared account

Ladbrokes covers the main Irish lottery products well enough to make this list, with Irish Lotto offered as a fixed odds number bet alongside Daily Million, Fast 15s, 39s and New York Lotto in the lottery section. Irish Lotto selections can cover between one and five numbers, with winnings based on the odds shown by Ladbrokes rather than the National Lottery prize table. The Ladbrokes product also covers sport, casino and bingo under the same login.

Five draw games under one login

Irish Lotto, Daily Million, Fast 15s, 39s and New York Lotto all sit in the same lottery section, with selections covering between one and five numbers. Winnings are based on the odds Ladbrokes shows at the time you bet, rather than the National Lottery prize table.

The same wider group as Coral

Coral and Ladbrokes are related brands with heavily overlapping lottery menus, so this does not create much extra choice if you already hold a Coral account. If Ladbrokes is already your main bookmaker, the lottery section is convenient enough that you do not need a second account just for Irish Lotto.

Welcome: 100 free spins + 300 LadBucks, 0x

Ladbrokes's current welcome offer is 100 free spins plus 300 LadBucks, with 0x wagering on the spin winnings and a €5 minimum deposit. It is a casino-wide offer rather than lottery-specific, so eligibility and terms sit in the account rather than on the lottery pages themselves.

What works here:

  • Five draw games: Irish Lotto, Daily Million, Fast 15s, 39s and New York Lotto
  • Sport, casino and bingo sit under the same login as the lottery section

Room for improvement:

  • Heavily overlapping lottery menu with its related brand Coral, so little extra choice if you hold both
  • The welcome route is free spins and LadBucks only, with no matched deposit bonus alongside them

4. BoyleSports 3.5/5 · A dedicated hub, fewer specials than Paddy Power

BoyleSports is a good alternative if you want a bookmaker with an Irish Lotto section that feels like a product of its own rather than a small market buried inside sport. The dedicated BOYLE Lotto area currently includes Irish Lotto and Daily Million alongside other international draws. The Irish Lotto market is based on predicting numbers from the official draw without purchasing an official ticket, and Daily Million matters if you want more frequent Irish draws than Lotto alone provides.

A dedicated Lotto hub, not buried in sport

BoyleSports has a long Irish retail presence behind the online account, and the lottery product sits separately from the normal sport navigation. The BoyleSports account also gives you racing and GAA betting if you want one balance for more than lottery wagers.

Fewer specials than Paddy Power

Paddy Power exposes a broader set of Irish Lotto specials beyond the core number bets. BoyleSports is better suited to somebody who wants a dedicated Lotto hub and familiar number selection rather than lots of side markets on how the draw unfolds. Its Republic of Ireland betting operation holds GRAI-0852-RB-26-0001.

Welcome: up to 100 free spins, 0x

BoyleSports's current welcome offer is up to 100 free spins with 0x wagering on the winnings and a €5 minimum deposit. It is a casino-wide offer rather than lottery-specific, so eligibility and terms sit in the account rather than on the lottery pages themselves.

What works here:

  • A dedicated Lotto hub, kept separate from the normal sport navigation
  • Long Irish retail presence, plus racing and GAA betting under the same balance

Room for improvement:

  • Fewer Irish Lotto specials than Paddy Power's broader market list
  • The welcome route is free spins only, with no matched deposit bonus alongside them

5. William Hill 3.5/5 · Six-ball or seven-ball, your choice

William Hill is useful if you like choosing whether the bonus ball counts towards your Lotto selection. Its Irish Lotto material separates six ball and seven ball betting, which changes both your chance of matching and the fixed odds attached to the line. You can select between one and five numbers: in the six ball version only the six main balls count towards your selection, while the seven ball version also counts the bonus ball.

Six-ball or seven-ball selections

You need every number on your line to appear for the fixed odds bet to win, and the six ball versus seven ball choice is easy to understand. It gives William Hill a clearer product difference than simply adding more lottery names. Its Republic of Ireland bookmaker is WH Ireland Limited and holds GRAI-1096-RB-26-0001.

Its own page still described the old format

William Hill's public Irish Lotto explainer still described the outgoing 47 ball, twice weekly format during our 31 August 2026 check. The official game changed on 5 September and added Monday draws from 7 September, so use the live betslip and settlement rules now rather than relying on an older explainer page.

Welcome: 200 free spins, 0x wagering

William Hill's current welcome offer is 200 free spins with 0x wagering on the winnings and a €5 minimum deposit. It is a casino-wide offer rather than lottery-specific, so eligibility and terms sit in the account rather than on the lottery pages themselves.

What works here:

  • Six-ball and seven-ball Lotto betting, each with its own odds
  • A clearer product difference than simply adding more lottery names

Room for improvement:

  • Its own Irish Lotto explainer still described the outgoing 47-ball format during our 31 August 2026 check
  • The 200 free spins are the only welcome route, with no matched deposit bonus alongside them

What changes to Irish Lotto in September 2026?

The Irish Lotto is changing more in one week than it has in years. The final 47 ball draw is Wednesday 2 September 2026, followed by the first 45 ball draw on Saturday 5 September. Numbers 46 and 47 leave the game entirely.

The smaller pool improves the official jackpot odds from about 1 in 10.7 million to 1 in 8.1 million. Lotto Plus 2's top prize rises from €250,000 to €1 million, while Lotto Plus 1 remains at €1 million.

Then the schedule changes. The first Monday draw takes place on 7 September, after which Lotto runs every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 7:55pm. The price does not increase: two standard Lotto lines remain €4, or €6 with Lotto Plus.

This matters for bookmaker betting as well as official tickets. Any page still describing a 47 ball game or only Wednesday and Saturday draws is using the old format after 5 September.

How we rated these Irish lottery sites

We ranked Irish lottery sites first on what product you actually get. An official National Lottery entry is not the same thing as a fixed odds bet on the draw, so Lottery.ie is the clear starting point for anybody who specifically wants to buy a Lotto ticket online, outside the rankings below.

For the bookmakers, we looked at the depth of Irish Lotto and Daily Million coverage, the number of ways you can structure a bet, how clearly each site explains settlement, and whether the lottery section is easy to reach without digging through unrelated markets. We also checked the live Irish facing product rather than assuming an old lottery guide still described the current draw.

The September 2026 Lotto changes carried extra weight because they alter the number pool, jackpot odds and weekly schedule. A betting site can have a good interface and still be unhelpful if its public rules are describing a draw that no longer exists.

Each bookmaker's final position here also reflects its overall GambleGuru review score alongside its lottery coverage, so a wide market list cannot make up for a casino that falls short elsewhere.

Only gamble if you are 18 or over. Set limits before playing. GamblingCare.ie offers independent Irish support, including its 24-hour helpline on 1800 936 725.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Lottery.ie lets you buy official tickets online, while the five bookmakers in this ranking let you bet on Irish Lotto results instead. Decide which product you mean before paying, because an official ticket and a bookmaker bet can have very different payouts even when they use the same draw.

The final 47 ball draw is Wednesday 2 September 2026 and the first 45 ball draw is Saturday 5 September. From 7 September 2026, official Lotto draws take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 7:55pm, a schedule that adds a third weekly draw to the existing Wednesday and Saturday nights.

Paddy Power is our pick because it covers the main draw and Lotto Plus games while also listing individual ball, odd or even, number range and other Irish lottery specials. BoyleSports is the cleaner alternative if you mainly want standard Irish Lotto and Daily Million number bets in a dedicated lottery hub.

Coral ranks higher because it gives you essentially the same core lottery family while sitting slightly stronger in our overall product comparison. The two are related brands with heavily overlapping Lotto menus, so there is little reason to open both accounts only for Irish lottery betting.
