Tombola is bingo-first, not a conventional slots casino

The UK Gambling Commission register lists its remote operating-licence reference as 038613-R-319397-016 (account 38613). An active licence is not a clean disciplinary record. On 21 July 2025, the UKGC imposed a £184,500 financial penalty for breaches involving direct electronic consent and self-exclusion. The regulator called the failings isolated and noted Tombola's immediate remedial action and cooperation. You should weigh that history alongside its current licence and safer-gambling tools.

In-house bingo replaces the usual third-party game library

This is where Tombola stands apart. There are no third-party providers - every game is put together by Tombola's own team in Sunderland, so you won't find these titles anywhere else. We appreciated seeing something different, though it may feel limited if you're after variety.

Tombola says its games offer "some of the most competitive return to player rates in the industry," though with everything being proprietary, we found it hard to compare directly to the big-name providers.

If live casino or branded slot games are on your must-have list, Tombola won't fit the bill. There's a total absence of Evolution, Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Play'n GO, and all the other major studios. But if you're here for bingo, the exclusive library is the draw.

Tombola rewards play with withdrawable winnings and free games, not status

The £50 match stays put, but winnings can leave

Deposit between £10 and £50 and Tombola matches the amount at 100%.

It also gives you one 10p Free Play for every £1 deposited, up to 50.

So:

• £10 deposit: £10 bonus + 10 Free Plays worth £1
• £20 deposit: £20 bonus + 20 Free Plays worth £2
• £50 deposit: £50 bonus + 50 Free Plays worth £5

There is no wagering multiple on the resulting winnings.

The distinction is that the bonus funds themselves cannot be withdrawn. Tombola uses your real-money balance before the bonus, and withdrawing while unused bonus money remains means forfeiting that balance.

Anything you win from it can become real money.

Free Plays expire after seven days and the matched bonus can't be used on Tombola Roulette.

Free For All can be played once per day, combining a daily matching game with a weekly bingo-style card.

Current prizes reach as high as £1,000, although how a prize is credited can depend on its value.

Other recurring free games include Deal or No Deal and Super Spins, with temporary prize draws and Stake & Get offers appearing around them.

These promotions suit Tombola because they don't try to turn it into a standard slots casino. The free-game culture is part of the product itself.

Playmates rewards referrals rather than your own wagering

There are no status tiers or points awarded according to how much you wager.

You'll need a debit card for your first deposit. Apple Pay only becomes an option from your second deposit onwards.

Withdrawal methods

Withdrawals follow a closed-loop policy, meaning your money goes back to the card you used to deposit. Card withdrawals usually take 3-5 working days, though sometimes it's as quick as an hour. If there's an issue with your card, bank transfer is the backup - also 3-5 working days.

The Tombola help centre says withdrawable funds must be at least £10. Tombola says there are no withdrawal fees and requests cannot be reversed. Age and identity checks are required before gambling; further source-of-funds checks can apply later, not just above an assumed £2,000 threshold.

Payment options are seriously limited - no Skrill, Neteller, PayPal (for new players), Paysafecard, Google Pay, or Revolut. If you're on Android and don't have a debit card, you're out of luck.

In-house support avoids the chatbot hand-off

Tombola's public help pages advertise 24/7 live chat and email support (support@tombola.co.uk). Its safeplay guidance lists the freephone number 0800 464 3411; safer-gambling queries can also go to safeplay@tombola.com.

The entire support team is UK-based, in-house, and located in Sunderland. We tested the live chat ourselves and connected to a human agent almost instantly, with no chatbot or FAQ gatekeeping in the way - which made the process feel refreshingly personal.

For a site this size, the support setup is genuinely impressive. Having both a freephone number and speedy live chat is a rarity in the industry.

Safeplay lets you freeze individual games

Tombola's safeplay guidance lists daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits, plus a separate net-deposit limit that tracks deposits minus withdrawals. You can also set a per-game stake limit, freeze individual games and use Time Keeper reminders after 1, 2 or 3 hours. The site says it shows an hourly reality-check pop-up as well.

For a break, Cool Off runs from 24 hours to five months. Self-exclusion ranges from six months to permanent. Tombola's stake-limit help says a lower limit takes effect immediately, while raising or switching it off requires a 24-hour cooling-off period. These controls are useful, but they do not undo the 2025 UKGC findings about past self-exclusion and consent failures.

Tombola stays at 4.2 out of 5.

If you're looking for Evolution tables and thousands of third-party slots, stop here. Tombola isn't built for that.

Its appeal is proprietary bingo and arcade games, daily free promotions and a welcome offer where winnings don't face a separate wagering multiple.

You do need to understand the bonus balance. A £50 deposit can generate £50 of matched bonus money plus £5 of Free Plays, but the bonus itself isn't withdrawable and unused bonus funds disappear if you cash out early.

Payments are intentionally narrow too. Tombola has an active UKGC licence, but its 2025 penalty for consent and self-exclusion failures is a material caveat, not something to overlook.
